Because I really needed more stuff...
What's a weekend without a trip to Purl? Because you know, I don't have enough craft supplies.
This time I had a mission: I wanted to make this desk organizer from In Stitches. I have no desk drawers and a vast amount of crap on my desk which needs camoflauging, immediately. So, off to Purl to get some heavyweight cotton.
I am going to use the same fabric on the inside and out since there was really no other heavyweight that coordinated nicely (all of the heavyweights were big bold patterns like this one). Somehow I wound up with way more fabric than necessary. I probably have an extra 3/4 yard. I'm sure I'll find something to do with it...
Just when I thought I was going to safely exit with only what I'd come in to purchase, I was seduced by the adorable pink fat quarter bundles in the window. Clearly, I must make a pink baby quilt, and pronto. And so, I came home with this too, which will become Hop, Skip, Jump from Denyse Schmidt Quilts.
Of course, all I had time to do was cut the fabric for the organizer and didn't get to sew stitch one. Looks like that will have to wait until next weekend. The good news is I am getting much less fearful about taking blade to fabric. I do wish I could resurface my office floor with a self-healing rotary cutting mat. How great would that be?

You are so lucky!
